அன்பார்ந்த நண்பர்களே புதிய கலாச்சரத்தில் வெளியான அமெரிக்க திவால் கட்டுரையும், வினவில் வெளியான ஐ.டி துறை நண்பா உனக்கு ரோஷம் வேணுண்டா என்ற கட்டுரையும் இதையோட்டி நடந்த விவாதங்களும் இப்போது நூலாக வெளிவந்திருக்கிறது. அதில் வந்த முன்னுரையே இங்கே பதிவு செய்கிறோம்.
முன்னுரை:
ஐ.டி என்று பரவலாக அறியப்படும் தகவல் தொழில் நுட்பத் துறை சமீபத்திய ஆண்டுகளில் வளர்ந்திருப்பது அனைவரும் அறிந்ததே. வீட்டு வாடகை உயர்ந்தது முதல் நட்சத்திர விடுதிகளின் வார விடுமுறைக் கொண்டாட்டம் வரை பல்வேறு விசயங்களில் இந்தத் துறையின் செல்வாக்கும் நமக்கு தெரிந்த விசயம்தான். தீடீரென்று பலரது வாழ்க்கையை ஜாக்கி வைத்து தூக்கிய பெருமையும் இத்துறைக்கு உண்டு. ஒரு காவியம் போல வியந்தோதப்படும் இந்தத் துறையின் இன்றைய நிலை என்ன?
மென்பொருள் தயாரிக்கும் அந்த நிறுவனத்தில் வெள்ளிக்கிழமையென்றால் கூதூகலம் அனைவரையும் பற்றிக் கொள்ளும். வாரத்தின் விடுமுறை நாட்களைக் கொண்டாடுவதற்கு நிறுவனமே பல பொழுது போக்கு ஏற்பாடுகளைச் செய்யும். ஊழியர்களின் பிறந்த நாளுக்கு பரிசு, மூன்று வேளையும் உயர்தர உணவு இலவசமாக அளிக்கப்பட்டது என அந்த பொற்காலம் சுபீட்சமாகத்தான் இருந்தது சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பு வரை. அதன் பிறகு என்ன ஏது என தெரியாமல் அந்தப் பொற்காலத்தின் கூரைகள் ஒவ்வொன்றாய் விழ ஆரம்பித்தன. இலவச உணவு ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டது. பல ஊழியர்கள் நீக்கப்பட்டனர். முக்கியமாக வெள்ளிக்கிழமை மாலையில்தான் இந்த ஆட்குறைப்பு வைபவங்கள் நடந்தேறின. மகிழ்ச்சியை அளித்து வந்த அந்த நாள் இப்போது பீதியை பற்றவைக்கும் நாளாக மாறியது.
அந்த நிறுவனத்தின் வயது எட்டென்றால் அந்த கூரூப் லீடர் ஏறக்குறைய ஆறு வருடங்கள் வேலை செய்திருக்கிறார். சம்பளம் ரூ.30,000. திருமணம், சொந்தவீடு, வங்கிக் கடன் என பல திட்டங்கள் அந்த சம்பளைத்தை வைத்து செயல்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார். தீடீரென்று ஒரு வெள்ளிக்கிழமை மாலை அவரது வேலை பறிக்கப்பட்டதாக ஆணை வருகிறது. உத்தரவு வந்த சில மணித்துளிகளுக்குள்ளாகவே அலுவலக கணினி அவரது உத்தரவுகளுக்கு ஆட்பட மறுக்கிறது. விரக்தி கொப்பளிக்க அவர் கதறி அழுகிறார். தன் வேலை பறிக்கப்படும் அளவுக்கு எந்த குறையையும் செய்ய வில்லையே என அரற்றுகிறார். அவரது முன்னாள் சக ஊழியர்கள் அவரை சமாதானப்படுத்துகின்றனர். அவரது அழுகைக்கு பின்னே அந்த சம்பளத்தின் தரத்திற்கேற்ப கட்டியமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த வாழ்க்கை இனி வாழ முடியாத ஒன்றாக மாறிவிட்டது அச்சுறுத்தும் யதார்த்தமாக இருக்கிறது. இனி அவர் புதிய வேலைக்கு முயன்றாலும் பழைய சம்பளத்தில் பாதி கிடைத்தால் பெரிய விசயம் எனுமளவுக்கு நிலைமை மாறிவிட்டது. ஏன்?
அமெரிக்காவில் நிதி நிறுவனங்களும், வங்கிகளும் திவாலாகி உலகையே ஒரு பொருளாதார வீழ்ச்சியில் தள்ளிய நேரத்தில் அதைப் பற்றி புதிய கலாச்சாரத்தில் ஒரு பெரிய கட்டுரையை வெளியிட்டிருந்தோம். அதையே வினவுத் தோழர்களும் அவர்களுடைய இணைய தளத்தில் வெளியிட்டிருந்தார்கள். பல வலைப்பூக்களும் இக்கட்டுரையை மறு பிரசுரம் செய்தன. பல ஆயிரம்பேர் படித்த அந்தக் கட்டுரையில் அமெரிக்கா நிறுவனங்கள் திவாலானதின் பின்னணியையும், குறிப்பாக முதலாளித்துவத்தின் தவிர்க்க இயலாத சூதாட்ட பொருளாதரத்தின் இயங்கு விதிகளையும் எளிமையாக விளக்கியிருந்தோம். தனியார் மயம், தாராள மயத்தின் தோல்வியும், அந்த நிறுவனங்களைக் காப்பாற்ற அமெரிக்க அரசு பல ஆயிரம் கோடி ரூபாயில் நிவாரண நிதி அளித்ததின் பின்னே மறைந்திருக்கும் முதலாளித்துவப் பொருளாதாரத்தின் தோல்வியையும் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தோம்.
இணையத்தில் வெளிவந்த இக்கட்டுரை பல நூறு வாசகர்களால் பாராட்டப்பட்டது. பலர் மறுமொழிகளின் மூலம் தங்களது கருத்துக்களை தெரிவித்திருந்தனர். அந்தக் கட்டுரையும் மறுமொழிகளும் இங்கே வெளியிடப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. இக்கட்டுரையின் தொடர்ச்சியாக வினவுத் தோழர்கள் ஜ.டி துறையைப் பற்றி ஒரு கட்டுரையை இணையத்தில் வெளியிட்டிருந்தார்கள். அதில் அமெரிக்கா திவாலின் பிரதிபலிப்பாக இந்தியாவில் ஏற்படக்கூடிய பாதிப்புகளையும், ஐ.டி ஊழியர்கள் தமது எதிர்காலத்தை பாதுகாப்பதற்காக தொழிற்சங்கங்களில் திரளவேண்டிய அவசியத்தையும் வலியுறுத்தியிருந்தார்கள். ஆனால் பல வாசகர்கள்- இத்துறையில் பணியாற்றுபவர்கள்- அவற்றை அலட்சியமாக மறுத்தார்கள். தங்களுக்கொன்றும் பாதிப்பில்லை எனவும் ஆக்ரோஷமாக தெரிவித்தார்கள். சில வாசகர்கள் அந்தக் கட்டுரையின் சாரத்தை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டதோடு ஐ.டி துறையின் ஆட்குறைப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளைப் பற்றிஆதாரங்களுடன் தெரிவித்தார்கள். இங்கே அந்தக் கட்டுரையும் அதற்கான மறுமொழிகளையும் வெளியிட்டுள்ளோம்.
இக்கட்டுரை வெளியிட்டு இன்று ஒரிரு மாதங்கள் முடிந்து விட்டன. இன்று தகவல் தொழில் நுட்பத்துறையின் வீழ்ச்சியும், ஆட்குறைப்பும், சம்பளக் குறைப்பும் யாரும் மறுக்க முடியாத அளவுக்கு கண்கூடான யதார்த்தங்களாக மாறிவிட்டன. இதை முன்னறிந்து சொல்லும்போது மறுத்தவர்கள் இன்று அவர்களது மறுப்பைத்தான் மறுக்கவேண்டியிருக்கும். முதலாளித்துவத்தின் பயங்கரவாதமாய் அமெரிக்காவிலிருந்து இறக்குமதியாகியிருக்கும் இந்த பொருளாதாரச் சுனாமி இந்தியாவை மட்டுமல்ல பல நாடுகளையும் பதம் பார்த்திருக்கிறது. சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்னர் 20,000 புள்ளிகளில் கும்மாளமிட்ட மும்பை பங்குச் சந்தை இன்று 10,000த்திற்கே தள்ளாடுகிறது. இந்த இழப்பில் ஏமாந்து பலர் தற்கொலை செய்திருக்கின்றனர்.

I am working for the Same IT Industry which you people are telling so many stories, but the fact is our younger generation who taken these as advantage and they did not realise what is the fact, they already suffered in 2000 also, but they have not learned the lession from that, atleast here after they have to change their attitude towards the LIFE!!!, Already we people are in PANIC, Do not pass any comment in this drastic situation.

I agree most of the contents are true, but they have given lots fake news to make funny, as like extra fittings.
I came to India recently and there was a news in very good magazine, like if we use hair dye, then we will have cancer and another one rape story, like they explained all situation, like how many peoples involved and how they did. The actual truth content is just 30% and rest of the 70% are editor’s imagination, to satisfy their low profile readers.
Some of them knows, this is the Indian media style.
The current situation is not an IT problem, it’s an world wide economy issue. initially investment bank’s are filed bankruptcy, because of their stupid action. Most of the companies are fired their contractors to reduce the cost. Now, most of the companies are not getting fund from the bank to run the company.
My first salary in india was Rs 4000 as IT employee on 2000, but nowadays freshers are getting Rs 50000. So, the fresher IT person will behave like New Rich Person.
Now, My monthly salary is around 5 lakhs Rupees (after converted from dollars to rupees), but i did not have any experience like this editor explained on his book.
I saw a tamil movie “Katradhu Tamil”, such a great movie, i can understand the feelings of low salary persons in india in front of IT people.
One of the company share was $10 in US, but now it’s just 15 cents, I can estimate after 2 years it will become $10 again. So, i bought 30000 shares. if my assumption is true, then i will get some crores of rupees, other wise my 3 lakhs rupees investment is gone away. ALL ARE GAME AND TIME.
The Q3 margin in TCS has not improved. Lay offs are continuning in different modes. Working hours are increasing. What we see now is the only spill over effect of economy slowdown. This will aggrevate in 2009. There will be consolidation in the industry. Many may wind up their services. It is high time for IT guys to mobilize as union.
Working for the past 15 years in IT never had such funny experiences nor my friends. Rea IT people are still in the job and getting real salaries and living real life.
My friends from other states always say “Tamils are known for their extra-ordinary exaggeration of any event” . I used to vigorously oppose such comments. Reading such articles proves that we are indeed very good in exaggeration
Neverthless, if the author is getting some “kick” out of kicing the IT guys,,, so be it.

In any industry, ups and downs are common. The current trend is affecting all the industries. This should be a lesson for the IT people on how to save money and how to spend wisely.
I agree few IT people have headweights and their attitude changes lot. But this happens to everyone who gets huge money. Do not forget that there are so many industries are depend on IT people like Marketing, Entertainment, Automobile, etc.
Any one can earn lot of money with proper vision and aim. Now is the crisis in every industry. Just do not make fun at IT people.
How about Actors,Actresses, What the great achievement they are doing and getting paid such huge amount. They simply spoiling our culture.
Tell me one thing, Someone should have taught you on how to surf web page, that person also should be IT person. So please do not make fun at them.
IT person only is making your personal banking more simpler. Even Rail booking and everything.
Finally I ask IT people spend money wisely and never change your character after seeing the money.

IBM was kicked out of India (Along with Coke) in 1977 by the ‘socialist’ minded govt then. We lost many valuable deacades.
And Comrades celeberated 1985 May day as “Anti-Computerisation” day in India, as they belived computers will lead to unemployment. They violently opposed computarisation of govt companies then.
Will anyone belive it now ?

IS this all your logical reply ? Sure US fin. model is wrong, reckless and no denying that. but that is not the only model of free market. and if imprudent lendings and govt interventions are there these will be the result.
sure millions of jobs are lost. but this is not the end of the world and economy will recover in a couple of years and new jobs will be created. new jobs were always being created in a dynamic economy. Can you suggest any workable methods as an alternative to all this ?
Ok. then what do propsoe we should do ? get back to the good old days of Licensing and state socialsism as it was before 1991 ? kick out all MNCs and FIIs and FDIs ? raise taxations to the levels of 70s ?
