Rishi Sunak: A hybrid form of Fascism!

Why should Rishi be elected among the many in the Conservative Party. Because Rishi is a hybrid fascistic mixture of England’s conservatism and Indian sanatanism; That is why Rishi was chosen.

The brahminical corporate Indian media boasted that for the first time in the history of the UK which subjugated India, Rishi Sunak, an Indian-origin man, became the Prime Minister, and that it was a ‘historic milestone’. “Sunak was the first non-white person, the first Hindu, the youngest”, the Hindustan Times said. The RSS’s magazine Organiser boasted that “Rishi Sunak is the first Hindu to become British Prime Minister, securing the position on Diwali”. The saffron mobs posted a video of Sunak projecting him as a “Hindu lion” and circulated it on social media.

Union Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted with delight: “Special Diwali wishes to the ‘living bridge’ of UK Indians, as we transform our historic ties into a modern partnership”.

If Sunak is to be celebrated for his Indian-origin, even before Sunak, there were people of Indian origin in positions of authority in Canada, Fiji, Malaysia, USA, Portugal and many more. Among the 200 persons of Indian origin who hold high positions globally, more than 60 persons hold positions of authority in various countries. Only Sunak was celebrated while other persons of Indian Origin who hold positions of power in other countries of the world were not.

If we consider, celebrating Rishi Sunak is because the post of Prime Minister of the UK is a vital one, then an even more important post is the office of Vice President of the United States held by Kamala Harris. But the Indian media did not give her much importance as given to Sunak, because she belonged to the Christian faith and to the Democratic Party.

Like Kamala Harris, Pramila Jayapal belonging to the Democratic party is of Indian-origin. In 2019, Pramila moved a resolution in the US House of Representatives calling for an end to the restrictions imposed in Kashmir and urged the Indian government to abide by international human rights laws. Pramila, who voiced in support of the people of Kashmir, and against the NRC and the Citizenship Amendment Act, was not celebrated by the Indian media or the saffron mobs. On the contrary, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar rejected the meeting with her, as she spoke out in support of the people of Kashmir.

Let us assume that the reason for celebrating Sunak is that Britain, which has enslaved India for two centuries, is now ruled by a person of Indian origin. But a question arises which needs to be answered: what is the necessity for a person of Indian origin to be elected as the Prime Minister of the UK.

Not a Saviour!

Is Rishi Sunak going to save the working people of England who are suffering from the government’s ‘austerity’ measures, rising prices and wage cuts? Or, is he going to shore up the collapsing British economy? None of this is going to happen.

This crisis, which is faced not only by England but also by countries across the world, is due to the internal character of imperialism, and this economic crisis cannot be resolved without the abolition of imperialism. Because of their inability to find solution to the problem, his predecessors Boris Johnson and Liz Truss had stepped down; Following this, Rishi Sunak took over as the Prime Minister.

The economic policy which Rishi Sunak put forward for the UK’s economic crisis is the same as that of the right-wing conservative Margaret Thatcher’s economic policy which was put forward in the 1980s. This is what the two PMs before him had followed. If so, what the hell is Sunak going to do?

Thatcherism is the opening up of the entire country to the profiteering of the corporate capitalists in the name of controlling liquidity, privatising everything including the manufacturing sector, and controlling trade union activities. So, Sunak is going to intensify these further in the UK, just like Modi in India. Sunak’s policy will only further submerge the UK, which has already trapped in the quagmire of the crisis; his policy won’t rescue the UK. However, Sunak has been selected.

The origin of Rishi

So far, two PMs, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, have stepped down since the traditionalist-right Conservative Party formed the government in 2019. The opposition Labour Party and the UK’s Islamist organisations demanded for a general election. In order to retain power, the party is left with no other option but to project Sunak, with the support of a capitalist clique within the party, as a ‘Bailee’ to the capitalist crisis.

Nevertheless, why should Rishi be elected among the many in the Conservative Party. Because Rishi is a hybrid fascistic mixture of England’s conservatism and Indian sanatanism; That is why Rishi was chosen.

Since Sunak was born in England and is a millionaire, he has naturally accepted the policies of the traditionalist Conservative Party of England. He publicly declared that he has no friends among the workers; bourgeois arrogance runs through his blood.

The policies of the Conservative Party are free market, no state interference in the market, hatred of Islam and one nation. That is to say, the Conservative Party is a reactionary party like India’s BJP.

During the budget debate held two months after he was elected to the Parliament, Sunak opposed welfares to the people, saying “Public expenditure in normal times must not exceed 37% of GDP”. He had spoken out against poor people by restricting immigrants from entering England, where people speaking different languages and nationalities coexist.

On the other hand, it is more appropriate to identify Rishi Sunak as the son-in-law of a Karnataka Brahmin – corporate capitalist Infosys Narayana Murthy, rather than a person of Indian origin.

Sunak is a traditional follower of Indian sanatanism and takes pride in projecting himself as a sanatan and a Hindu.

When he was first elected to the Parliament in 2015, he swore his oath of allegiance on the Bhagavad Gita. Last July, during the prime ministerial contest with Liz Truss, he performed a cow puja to ensure victory. After becoming the Prime Minister of the UK, he said, “It is a pleasure to celebrate Diwali as a Prime Minister”. In his first speech after becoming PM, he identified himself as a Hindu; he said “I am a citizen of Britain now but my religion is Hindu. India is my religious and cultural heritage. I can proudly say that I am a Hindu and being a Hindu is my identity”.

Generally speaking, it is contrary to the tradition of a democratic republic for those in the highest echelons of the State to publicly declare their religion and take pride in it; and this belongs to a fascist.

Partner of saffron fascists!

The HSS, an offshoot of the RSS, has penetrated and gained ground in the Hindu-majority Leicester region of England. In September last year, the fascist mob had orchestrated a planned anti-Muslim riot in the area. The Conservative Party is in favour of this group. With the help of this party, the Hindutva clique is growing in England. Moreover, during the 2019 UK general election, the dominant caste elite Hindus in the UK campaigned for the Conservative Party. All this makes us realize that England’s conservatism is associated with Hindu sanatan.

Sunak is the representative of this alliance. That is why Sunak has been projected as the Saviour of England. History is that the fascists are projected as the saviours during times of crises! This is how Mussolini and Hitler were presented as saviours.

In the context of the UK’s economic crisis, Sunak becoming PM is a threat not only economically but also politically to the UK’s working people. Just as the saffron clique grew globally since the Modi government took power in 2014, there is no doubt that the Sunak regime will also serve as a fertile foundation for the growth of the saffron clique in the UK.

This is the reason why Indian saffron fascists are supporting Sunak; he is not supported because of his Indian-origin. Therefore, we, the working people of India, have nothing to celebrate or be proud of, because that the fascist supporter is of Indian origin. It is our duty to build an anti-fascist international unity against this international alliance of fascism!
