FASCISTS WILL FALL!! PEOPLE WILL WIN!!!
Sri Lanka, the country that had most actively implemented the policies of Privatization-Liberalization-Globalization among the Asian countrues, is on fire today.
Yesterday (May 9), in retaliation to the violence against the people by the fascist supporters of Rajapaksa, Rajapaksa’s house and the houses of several of his allies have been set on fire. This felt like a welcome summer rain.
Following this, Mahinda Rajapaksa has announced his resignation as Prime Minister. But the people continue to fight for the resignation of Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The series of struggles by more than 1500 labour unions has reached a climax. The way out of this is to sell the entire Sri lanka. But the situation is that there is no one to buy.
Keeping this as an excuse countries like the US, China and India are lending money to Sri Lanka as loans, even if the people of their countries have been suffering. By doing so, they are trying to bring Sri Lanka under their control by making them as debtors.
But these loans are not and will not be sufficient for Sri lanka. There is no electricity & fuel. As the prices have skyrocketed the people are unable to afford even the essential food items such as rice, pulses, milk.
The Rajapaksa gang, which incited ethnic riots and massacred thousands of Tamil people, is on the run. However, Gotabaya did not resign. The struggles against it are never going to stop. The fact of the matter is that Sri Lankans had united as a class against the privatization-liberalism-Globalization that is destroying the lives of the people, despite the ethnic, linguistic and religious bigotry in the country.
India is rapidly moving towards the economic situation of Sri Lanka. While the government of Sri Lanka owns Lankan Airlines, India does not even have its own Airlines. We must learn from the working people of Sri Lanka how to protect ourselves from this fascist mob that is privatizing all the public sector units and gifting the natural resources, such as forests and mountains to the corporates.
Sri Lanka offers great hope that the RSS-BJP Modi-Amit shah-Ambani-Adani saffron-corporate fascist mob, which divides India along religious and caste lines and commits violence, will be overthrown.
All these struggles must evolve into struggles against the pro-imperialist policies of the ruling classes, which acts as the core of the entire problem. Tamil Nadu must stand by the struggles of people from all walks of life, such as Tamils, Sinhalese and Muslims. People’s Power (Makkal Athikaram) requests the people of Tamil Nadu to support the struggles of the people of Sri lanka.
